Homemade Falafel - the Healthy Vegan Oil-Free Recipe
A traditional, vegan-friendly, chickpea-based delicacy with a kick of spice and seriously nutritious profile.
This falafel recipe is high in iron, fibre, protein and vitamins A and C for very few calories and little fat content.
A match made in heaven with homemade hummus.

- Ingredients
- 400g chickpeas
- 100g whole wheat flour
- 1tbsp tomato puree
- 1tsp harissa spices
- 1tsp ground coriander
- 1/4tsp himalayan pink salt
- 1/2tsp black pepper
- 1 red onion
- 1 red bell pepper
- 3 garlic cloves
- 15g coriander leaves
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Method
- Blitz all of the ingredients into a textured mixture that holds its shape.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 180℃ or until crispy - unless you plan on frying them, as is traditional.
- Serve with hummus and a side salad.
